Dean of Nursing
Lakeview provides instruction for junior- and senior-level students pursuing the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. The College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and has been preparing highly skilled and compassionate nurses for more than 130 years.
Position Overview
The Dean of Nursing is responsible for the oversight of the nursing program quality and provides vision and leadership in all areas of academic administration, including curriculum development, accreditation, program assessment, student success, and faculty recruitment and mentoring. Reporting directly to the President, the Dean works collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and clinical partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality nursing education.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing program.
Recruit, develop, and support faculty.
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards.
Strengthen partnerships with healthcare organizations to enhance clinical education.
Promote evidence-based practices that foster student success and retention.
Contribute to institutional strategic planning and advancement.
Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Nursing (PhD, DNP, or EdD) or similar earned doctorate is preferred.
Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited university and/or program is required.
Current, unencumbered RN license in Illinois (or eligibility for Illinois licensure).
Demonstrated experience in nursing education with success in academic leadership or administration. Two years of clinical nursing practice and two years as a nursing education instructor.
Strong knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements.
Effective leadership, collaboration, organization and communication skills.
Salary Range
$95,000 (min) - $170,000 (max)

Nursing Faculty
Lakeview College of Nursing is a CCNE-accredited pre-licensure nursing program.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Dean of Nursing, nursing faculty delivers class and/or clinical instruction according to the course syllabus using effective teaching methods; advises and tutors students; maintains current and accurate attendance and grade records; remains current in the nursing field; participates in school activities such as faculty committee meetings, in-service training sessions, student functions, graduation exercises, open houses, and new student orientations.
Qualifications
- Flexibility in the work schedule is necessary.
- Interest in serving a diverse student population is essential.
- Master’s in Nursing plus two years of clinical nursing practice required.
- BSN teaching experience preferred.
- Eligibility for an Illinois nursing license is required.
