Tuition / Payment Options

Contact: Julie Burokas at studentaccounts@lcn.edu or 217-709-0922

The payment due date for the Fall 2025 Semester is August, 1, 2025. Students will be dropped from all coursework if an account is unpaid or proper payment arrangements have not been made.

A $50 late payment fee will be assessed if payment arrangements are made after payment due date.

Payments may be made with cash, check, money order, VISA, MasterCard or Discover.

Tuition Payment Plan

http://www.mycollegepaymentplan.com/lakeview

Students will need a savings, checking account or credit card from which a payment can be regularly deducted each month. Please make sure you know your balance due and student ID number before filling out the online form. Contact studentaccounts@lcn.edu with any questions regarding the payment plan option.

Private Loans

http://www.lcn.edu/grants-and-loans

Private loans are consumer loans that are attached to education.  Students requesting information concerning private loans can visit the link provided above. Please contact the Financial Aid office with questions or concerns.

Employer Payment

If a student is reimbursed after the semester, they must pay their bill in full or enroll in the tuition payment plan on or before the payment due date. If an employer pays before the semester begins, inform them to send full payment by the due date.  Please remember any tuition and/or fees not paid by an employer are ultimately the student’s responsibility.

Federal Aid

If a student has completed the financial aid process and is awarded financial aid, they will be allowing the financial aid office to pay the bill using the amount awarded.  If it is not enough to pay the student’s tuition in full the student must pay the difference by the payment due date using one of the above methods.

Third Party Resources

If you are receiving tuition assistance, scholarships or payments from an agency, college savings plan or other outside resource including VA or military benefits, please notify the cashier studentaccounts@lcn.edu of all relevant details and contact information so the appropriate billing can be made prior to the due date.

Financial Aid Information

Contacts:
Financial Aid Assistant Director:  Tammy Garza at tgarza@lcn.edu or
Financial Aid Director:  Janet Ingargiola at jingarg@lcn.edu
Phone:  217/709-0928, Fax:  217/709-0956
SCHOOL CODE:  010501

Information about our student financial aid programs, scholarships, payment plans, billing/payment policies and much more http://www.lcn.edu/tuition-and-financial-aid

Students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as it is required for many scholarship considerations, including LCN scholarships.  Apply for Federal and/or State student aid using the FAFSA. The current base year (income information) to complete the 25/26 FAFSA is 2023. Students need to use their 2023 Federal Income Tax Return (as well as parent’s if applicable) and any applicable untaxed income to complete the FAFSA.

Students can apply online at the Federal Website (https://studentaid.gov). This process is safe and quick. LCN’s school code is 010501; the student will need this to identify the school in the appropriate field on the FAFSA. It is to the student's advantage to utilize the IRS Data Retrieval tool on the FAFSA to streamline verification. Read the results of your FAFSA carefully and pay particular attention to any comments listed. We may need these comment “issues” resolved before FA eligibility can be determined.

Please note LCN Financial Aid deadlines:

  • June 1 - to receive the FAFSA for Fall
  • July 18 - to submit completed verification worksheets and other required documents
  • Nov 1 - to receive the FAFSA for Spring
  • Dec 5 - to submit completed verification worksheets and other required documents

Files will be accepted after the deadline but we cannot guarantee completion of the file by the payment due date.  Files will be processed in the order they are received. Other funding sources should be utilized until your file is complete and aid is awarded.

Lakeview conducts verification of all financial aid files. Newly admitted students will receive a financial aid packet via postal mail.  Students need to respond to our requests in a timely manner. We would not be asking for items to complete a student’s file if we did not need them. Delayed responses will hinder our ability to inform students of the types of student aid for which they may be eligible.

It is important for a student to keep track of their loan debt, borrow responsibly, and seek out gift aid such as scholarships, grants, employee-sponsored education plans, etc. Students often do not take the time to look for scholarships. Students should apply for the LCN Scholarships that are offered each semester. LCN also offers a payment plan which is another tool that the student can utilize to reduce the amount of debt incurred and meet educational expenses.

Students transferring into LCN who are participating in financial aid/loans at another school should cancel any future aid and complete any exit requirements for that institution.  LCN participates in the National Student Loan Clearinghouse to report a student’s enrollment to loan servicers. It is important to keep loan servicers notified of school enrollment to avoid entering loan repayment on previous loans and using their Grace Period prematurely. Be sure to address any requests from your loan servicer.

We want to communicate with you effectively. Please check your student e-mail daily throughout the semester.

Clinical / Lab Uniform

Please refer to the letter and equipment requirements/uniform order form that was sent via email with the link to this webpage.

Health Records/Background Check/Drug Screen

In order to improve the efficiency and time-constraints of managing student health records, background checks and drug screens, Lakeview College of Nursing has selected ViewPoint to help in this process. This system will allow students to collect, review and share any documents, such as immunizations, medical records and certifications. This is a system that students will have access to after graduation.

Once information is provided from ViewPoint on how to start the process of submitting a background check, drug screen and uploading of documentation, the student will contact ViewPoint with questions regarding the requirements and the costs associated with the requirements. The estimated costs that will be paid directly to ViewPoint is $115. This includes the background check, drug screen and health portal.

  • Background Check
  • Drug Screen
  • Health Portal

In preparation for this new system it is recommended to make the necessary appointment NOW with your healthcare provider to get the required physical and titers showing immunity for immunization requirements. The drug screen and background check must be completed through ViewPoint. For more information on what health records are required refer to your admissions letter.

Laptop Requirement

Contact: Miranda Shake at mshake@lcn.edu or 217-709-0927

Lakeview College of Nursing requires students to have a laptop or approved tablet that can be brought to school for online testing. LCN also requires a computer webcam or a cellphone camera for use with video conferencing.

Lakeview uses a testing platform called ATI. Here is a page regarding their minimum laptop/tablet. (These Technical Requirements mention an iPad and Android devices, but it has been our experience iPads and other tablets do NOT work on proctored ATI exams, so we are strongly recommending a laptop). Please keep in mind that these are minimum requirements that can change, so buying a laptop or tablet that exceeds these requirements is a good idea.

Our learning management platform is called Edvance360.  The minimum requirements for this are an updated browser with Javascript enabled, and in order to view PDFs, Adobe Reader.

Although not required, Microsoft Office is recommended. Many classes require papers written in a word processing program like Microsoft Word. In some cases your courses require you to create a PowerPoint presentation as well. Microsoft Office 2019 Pro is available in the computer labs (one located on each campus). Reach out to Miranda if you need Microsoft Office on your personal computer.

A personal printer is recommended for ease of printing from home. Printers are also available in the labs on campus. Printing is limited to 1000 pages per semester. Once this page limit is exceeded, students are charged 5 cents per page.

Accommodations for Disabilities

Once a student is attending college, the student is expected to self-advocate, therefore it is up to the individual to disclose a disability and request academic accommodations. This process is done on a case-to-case basis and is collaborative. Email studentsfirst@lcn.edu to start the process.
