Opportunity for High School Seniors

Award

$1,000 Scholarship for Lakeview College of Nursing (LCN) Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Program with Possible Renewal for a total of $4,000.  The number of awards varies and may be competitive and based on GPA, Class Rank, and other submitted information.

Applicant Process

Interested High School Seniors who meet the criteria should complete the Lakeview College of Nursing Next Generation of Caring Scholarship Application for consideration. 

An official transcript or letter from your guidance counselor indicating GPA, class rank, and ACT/SAT scores (if available) should be sent to the following:

If necessary, a separate score report may be sent directly from ACT/SAT. 

To be considered official the transcript should possess the school’s official stamp and be enclosed in an envelope sealed by the high school.  (If class rank or test scores are not indicated on transcript a letter from the applicant’s high school guidance counselor indicating the applicant’s class rank and/or test score (if available) should also be included.  This information should be within a sealed envelope that has the school’s stamp or guidance counselor’s signature across the seal.)  If this has already been submitted for admissions purposes it will not be necessary to re-submit this to Lakeview College of Nursing.

Applications MUST be received no later than March 1.

Award Recipient(s) will be chosen by a Lakeview College of Nursing Committee.

Notification and Records

  1. A Lakeview College of Nursing Representative will contact the High School Guidance Counselor of the award recipient(s) to notify them of the recipient(s) and request the date of the high school’s honor program to present the award. 
  2. Lakeview will provide the guidance counselor with a certificate prior to the event at which it will be issued, if necessary.
  3. If possible, a Lakeview College of Nursing representative will attend the high school’s event to present the Lakeview Scholarship Certificate of Award.                                                                                                      
  4. A certificate will be presented to the Recipient at the high school’s honor program.
  5. Lakeview College of Nursing will maintain scholarship records of all recipients.

 

Admission

The LCN Next Generation of Caring Scholarship Recipient must apply for admission into Lakeview College of Nursing at least one semester prior to the desired start date. 

Recipients must earn admission into Lakeview College of Nursing and be enrolled in a curriculum track for those who are not yet licensed RNs in order for the scholarship to be valid.

Admission into Lakeview College of Nursing must occur within 5 years of the recipient’s high school graduation date.

Stipulations

Scholarship funds will be applied to the student’s Lakeview College of Nursing account and may be used toward the required program costs.

The recipient will receive a renewal of this scholarship for three additional semesters at Lakeview College of Nursing as long as he/she maintains a 2.5 GPA while in the LCN BSN program.

The recipient will be in contact with the Admissions Department at Lakeview College of Nursing as he/she completes the required preliminary college coursework and prepares for transfer by requesting a transcript evaluation once 30 cr. hrs. of college coursework is complete.

Recipient agrees to allow Lakeview College of Nursing to publicize his/her receipt of this scholarship.  Additionally, Lakeview College of Nursing may require recipients to provide up to 8 hours of promotional service to the College each year.
