Award
1 - $5,000 Scholarship for Lakeview College of Nursing (LCN) Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Program with Renewal for 3 additional semesters for a total of $20,000.
Criteria
- Completed at least 30 college credit hours at the time of scholarship application.
- Cumulative College GPA at or Above 3.5/4.0 to be considered for selection.
- Capable of Meeting the Lakeview College of Nursing Admission Criteria and plan to enter LCN’s BSN program without RN licensure.
- Demonstrated Leadership Ability may also be considered.
Applicant Process
- Interested transfer students should complete the Lakeview College of Nursing Merit-Based Transfer Scholarship Application.
- Official transcript(s) from each college or university attended is REQUIRED and should be submitted to: Amy McFadden, Lakeview College of Nursing Scholarship Coordinator, 903 N. Logan Ave., Danville, IL 61832 or amcfadden@lakeviewcol.edu. To be considered official the transcript should possess the school’s official stamp and be enclosed in an envelope sealed by the issuing institution or be emailed by ordering it from the issuing institution. If a student has already sent official transcripts to LCN admissions office, there is no need to re-send them for scholarship purposes.
- The application deadline is March 1st.
Official transcripts must also be either received or postmarked by the deadline.
- Award Recipient(s) will be chosen by the Lakeview College of Nursing Scholarship Committee.
Notification and Records
- Applicants will be notified of award selection approximately 4-6 weeks following the application deadline.
- Lakeview will provide the recipient with an official written notification of award.
- Lakeview College of Nursing will maintain scholarship records of all recipients.
Admission
LCN Merit-Based Transfer Scholarship Recipient must apply for admission into Lakeview College of Nursing by the College’s admission application deadline. This typically occurs while the student is enrolled in his/her last semester of college-level prerequisite requirements.
Recipient must earn admission into Lakeview College of Nursing and be enrolled in a curriculum track for those who are not licensed RNs in order for the scholarship to be valid. Admission into Lakeview College of Nursing must occur within timeline mentioned in award letter (this is usually the semester following planned completion of prerequisites).
Stipulations
Scholarship funds will be applied to the student’s Lakeview College of Nursing account and may be used toward the required program costs.
Recipient will receive an automatic renewal of the initial scholarship amount received in semester one for semester two of the LCN BSN program if they are in good academic standing (i.e. not on academic probation, etc.) and enrolled as a full-time student at LCN.
If the award recipient is enrolled in fewer than 12 cr. hrs. (full-time status), the award amount may vary and will be determined by the Lakeview College of Nursing Scholarship Committee.
An LCN GPA of 3.0 or higher must be achieved after first two semesters of LCN BSN Program in order to renew the scholarship for the remaining semesters.
Recipient agrees to allow Lakeview College of Nursing to publicize their receipt of this scholarship. Additionally, Lakeview College of Nursing may require recipients to provide up to 8 hours of promotional service to the College.
